It's Women in Horror Recognition Month, so Pete Tennant (of the Case Notes blog; Black Static), has kindly asked me to guest blog on that very subject, over at TTA Press.
Please have a look here and feel free to comment. I think I may have been a little too honest!

Good article. Hopefully the issue is changing for the better in horror fiction, and readers do judge on the merit of the story... I get the same feeling when they report crimes by women, saying how "unusual" it is because it's a woman...
ReplyDeleteThanks, Paul, I know exactly what you mean, but I guess talking about it is the 1st step - and I definitely think things are changing for the better.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on Give Me More Eyes... btw; really enjoyed it. (I too subbed, but alas...!)
And apologies on horribly late reply!
Thought I smelt deja vu - sorry, Paul, repeating myself is a habit I can't give up - but I did like your story, so I don't care!
ReplyDeleteCheers Carole, I emailed the 'webmaster' address. Hope that get through... Paul
